hello its me the ukulele teacher here to teach you how to play Hakuna Matata from the hit Disney movie The Lion King so grab your you make sure it’s in tune and get ready to play her color matata hakuna matada is a great motto to have what’s a motto well it’s a kind of inspirational catchphrase so the chords you’ll need for this song are C F and G which you probably already know but if you don’t you might want to check out my beginners glide to the ukulele video first plus you’ll also need the cause of D g7 and a minor let me take you through all the chords quickly now to play the chord of C put your third finger on the 3rd fret of the first string and C should sound like this to play the chord of F put your first finger on the first fret of the second string and your second finger on the second fret of the fourth string and F should sound like this to play the chord of G put your

first finger on the second fret of the third string your second finger on the second fret of the first string and your third finger on the third fret of the second string and G should sound like this to play D put your first second and third fingers on the second fret of the fourth third and second strings and D should sound like this to play g7 put your first finger on the first fret of the second string your second finger on the second fret of the third string and your third finger on the second fret of the first string and if you look at it you’ll notice it’s a kind of upside-down G shape so that should make it easier to remember and g7 it should sound like this and to play a minor you just want to put your second finger on the second fret of the fourth string and leave the other three strings open and the reason you use your second finger and not your first finger is so that you can easily move between a minor and F a minor it

should sound like this this song is just four lines long so I’m going to break it down for you line up by line the first line is just F and C and then the second line is FD and G seven and as it’s a really slow intro to the song you can just play one down stroke on each chord to begin with Hakuna Matata what a wonderful phrase Hakuna Matata ain’t no passing craze and then from the third line on which you can just start strumming the strumming pact that I’m going to play is just down down up up down up like this down down up down down down up down down down up down down down up below so the third line is just a minor F D and the fourth line is C G C let me show you that with the strumming it means no worries for the rest of your days it’s our problem-free philosophy Hakuna Matata
